St Mark’s Spring Classic
May

St Mark’s Spring Classic

The Classic is a must-attend evening featuring a delicious dinner, provided by local catering group Jake Francis and Valley Piggery, and an exciting live auction, led by parishioner and always-entertaining auctioneer Andrew Firestone. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on an array of exclusive items and experiences, all while contributing to a vital cause. Last year’s event was a tremendous success, raising $185,000 (net)—and this year, organizers aim to break that record!

“This event makes it possible for St. Mark’s to keep its doors open to the community, offering a space for creativity, connection, and service,” said Rev. Scott Claassen, Interim Rector at St. Mark’s.

"The Spring Classic sells out every year, so we encourage guests to secure their tickets now and join us for a spectacular spring evening, benefitting this beloved church and its community.”

This highly anticipated evening directly supports the Episcopal church’s mission to serve as an open community center and arts venue, providing no-fee access to more than 85 community groups and organizations.

“For many years, the Santa Ynez Valley Jewish Community has held a number of events, services, and programs at St. Mark’s,” said Shoshanah Schwartz, Vice President, Programs for the Santa Ynez Valley Jewish Community.

“As a small congregation without a building of our own, we are incredibly grateful to have access to the beautiful facilities and welcoming environment at St. Mark's. We feel as if this is our place, too.”

“Our sense of belonging here is a wonderful feeling. As noted in the 1939 movie, The Wizard of Oz, there’s no place like home. We have found a home here at St. Mark’s.”

Funds raised from the Classic allow St. Mark’s in the Valley to maintain its commitment to open doors, open hearts, and a community focus. Don’t miss this extraordinary night of generosity, camaraderie, and celebration!

Pablo Cruise Concert - Solvang Theaterfest
May

Pablo Cruise Concert - Solvang Theaterfest

In 1975 Pablo Cruise released its first A&M album simply entitled Pablo Cruise. The album cover was shot in the tropical gardens of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park and it featured a huge gorilla standing front and center. The band were no where in sight. At that point there was a bit of a mystique surrounding Pablo Cruise, and when asked what Pablo Cruise meant, the well-rehearsed answer went something like this:

“Pablo”, represents an honest, real, down to earth individual, and “Cruise” depicts his fun loving, easy going attitude towards life: In essence that’s what Pablo Cruise music is all about. Honest, real down to earth vocals, accompanied by fun yet elegant, infectious grooves. To hear Pablo Cruise on record is one thing, but to experience the band live is an exhilarating event!

From 1975 to 1985 the band toured the United States, Canada and Japan extensively, welcoming fans to “Climb Aboard The Good Ship Pablo Cruise.” Reaching the top 10 with mega hits like “Whatcha Gonna Do When She Says Goodbye?” and “Love Will Find A Way,”and several other top 20’s, the band went on to sell several million albums and singles collectively and established themselves as well respected writers and performers within the industry. They appeared on numerous TV shows, including Dick Clark’s American Bandstand, The Merv Griffin Show, The Dinah Shore Hour and in 1979 they broke Elvis Presley’s attendance record at the Sahara Tahoe in South Lake Tahoe, Nevada, becoming the first rock band to play a casino showroom. They also became the first rock band to grace the stage at the Grand Ole Opry, but by 1985 after completing several national tours and releasing 7 studio albums in all, the band decided to take a hiatus……one that lasted nearly 20 years.

Fast forward 20 years…. In 2005 a reunited Pablo Cruise picked up where they left off and today the band performs all over the U.S. and Canada and they’re enjoying it more than ever… Since getting back together, they have released two live CD’s and a DVD all through Sony Music documenting their exceptional live shows.

Doublewide Kings

70's Rock, Americana and Country-Blues

Sun, Jun 8th, 2025 at 3:00 pm

Doors open at 2:30pm - Open seating

Six fairly nice guys - one big mean sound

The Santa Barbara-based Doublewide Kings play a uniquely tweaked blend of original music and cover tunes that brings new passion to the familiar pleasures of roots-rock, Americana, country-blues, and the glory days of ‘70s FM radio.

With sommelier-like precision, these every-day Joes have cobbled together a repertoire that combines the deepest and most rewarding of old vine cuts with their own tasty, freshly-pressed songs, and the heady result is that, in the hands of the Kings, rock’n’roll once again feels urgent, exhilarating, and above all, fun.

From shimmering harmonies and delicate acoustic work to soaring guitar solos and big, bottom-swaying grooves, the Doublewide Kings bring their own crafty magic to every stage they step on, and they don’t quit until band and audience have become one happy, sweaty, satisfied tribe.

If you miss the soul-edifying thrill of live, bold rock’n’roll, the Kings are ready to light you up again. If you’ve never experienced that particular thrill, the Kings would be honored to show you how it’s done.

Doors open at 2:30pm - Open seating

The Storytellers is a prominent progressive bluegrass band that has established itself as a creative force in the Southern California Roots Music scene. They draw from the rich canon of traditional bluegrass, country blues, old-time and folk music as a basis for inspired improvisations and intrepid vocal harmonies. Their strong musical chemistry allows them to bring soulful harmonies, delicate acoustic sensibilities, soaring grooves, tight rhythms, substantive storytelling, and their own bluegrassy magic to every stage they stand on. The Storytellers has performed at numerous bluegrass festivals, music festivals, and other regional fairs and festivals. The band performed a year-long residency at Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, and in 2023 became the first bluegrass band to perform on NAMM’s premier stage. Soul Majestic

Roots Reggae

Sun, Aug 24th, 2025 at 3:00 pm

Doors open at 2:30pm - Open seating

Originated on the sandy shores of California, Soul Majestic channels their sunny beach days and bonfire nights into their unique style of reggae music. Look beyond their laid-back vibe, and you’ll find they are ever pushing the boundaries of the genre with an edge that cuts through the smoky haze. Their music blends a deep commitment to roots reggae with a love of hip-hop, R&B/Soul, psychedelic rock, pop and folk music. It’s a new twist on familiar reggae sounds, with conscious, heartfelt, and socially relevant yet timeless messages. Their signature vocal sound features male and female singers trading melodies and soaring harmonies, laced with edgy, crowd hyping dancehall verses and memorable hooks. Epic lead guitar solos wail over a wide range of tight danceable beats, rock flourishes, and heavy-dub interludes that will captivate and move you to dance.

Hard Day's Night - A Tribute to the Beatles
Apr

Hard Day's Night - A Tribute to the Beatles

Hard Day’s Night, Southern California's #1 Beatles Tribute Show, has been thrilling audiences with tight harmonies and flawless note-for-note instrumental renditions of Beatle hits. Hard Day’s Night has honed their show to become one of the most musically and visually satisfying Beatle tribute acts in the world - and they are bringing their performance to the Santa Ynez Valley!

Their custom-tailored costumes, vintage instruments, Liverpudlian dialect and precise attention to every detail recreate the magic, music, wit and wisdom of the total Beatle phenomenon. On stage, the four permanent members capture the unique personality, physicality and charm of the Beatle they portray, including the Fab Four’s familiar head bobs, toe taps and patter between songs.

Three costume changes cover the full range of the Beatle experience and beyond, with authentic early black suits, Sgt. Peppers’ regalia and Abbey Road attire, with all scenes set by video backdrop. Hear the horn section on Penny Lane and the full orchestration of Day in the Life. Relive the emotional intensity of John in his classic white suit performing Imagine, Paul’s moving Yesterday solo, the high energy of stadium songs like Twist and Shout and 30 other Beatle hits.
