If you’ve been thinking about joining the Museum’s Book Club, now is the perfect time!
This month, we are leaving Nordic Noir behind and stepping into the light with A Northern Light in Provence by Elizabeth Birkelund. We are excited to announce that the author will be joining us remotely for a special author talk and discussion!
In the book, Ilse Erlund is a translator living in a stilt house on Greenland’s west coast. Restless and isolated, she persuades her publisher to send her to France to translate the verses of Geoffrey “Po” Labaye, a charismatic poet known as the last living troubadour of Provence and her life is irrevocably changed.
The Museum Store has copies available now. Join us for a great read and a unique opportunity to hear directly from the author!

Live Fast Rally
Live Fast Rally was started in the Santa Ynez Valley by a group of friends. We are all hard working, professional, family men with a deep love of building and riding anything on two wheels.
The vision was a simple one, to throw an event in which people can come together and share their passion of motorcycles while enjoying a cold drink and good music. From this idea we have fostered many new relationships and found new friends.
Maybe the most profound is our connection with Band of Brothers, a local non-profit Veterans helping Veterans group. Live Fast Rally has been given the opportunity to give back to our community and Veterans through this group and we couldn’t be more proud in doing so.

The hope is to grow the program to include all the valley cemeteries in the future!
Volunteer with us as we honor our veterans throughout the year. From laying wreaths locally to leading a sponsorship group or coordinating a ceremony location, there are many ways to get involved!

Celebrate Life Run 5K
We would love to invite your community to join us for something truly special — the Celebrate Life Run 5K on Saturday, February 21st, set in the breathtaking Santa Ynez countryside.
This is more than a run. It’s a celebration of life, resilience, and hope — honoring those who have faced their own struggles and come through stronger.
The run begins at Believe Ranch and Rescue, a sanctuary for horses rescued from abuse, neglect, and slaughter. Participants will have the opportunity to meet our race hosts, 2x World Champion & Hall of Famer Siri Lindley and her wife, 6 x Iron Distance Champion Bek Keat. Siri’s story is one of extraordinary resilience — having survived acute myeloid leukemia with just a 5% chance of survival — making this day a powerful reminder of what it means to celebrate life fully.
Beyond the run, this is a joyful, family-friendly community event featuring:
Local artisan and vendor markets
Baked goodies and food vendors
Horse rides and mini donkeys
A farm animal petting area with goats and tortoises
Time to meet and connect with our incredible rescue horses
All proceeds from this event go to our non-profit 501c3 Believe Ranch and Rescue to help save more lives. Every step taken and every smile shared helps support our horse rescue, and we would be deeply grateful if you could share this event with your community.
