SCHOLARSHIPS: HOW TO CHANGE A LIFE
At the Santa Ynez Valley Foundation we have the privilege of being involved in changing people’s lives for the better – that is our role as a community foundation.
THE POWER OF EDUCATION
Our belief in the power of education is unshakeable. We know that if a determined young person has the opportunity to pursue higher education, s/he will be on a solid path for future economic strength and security, a productive life, and civic engagement. To that end the Board created the Santa Ynez Valley Foundation Scholarship Program to accumulate contributions from the community to provide critical financial support for young people pursuing college dreams.
MAKING IT HAPPEN
The Foundation’s Scholarship Committee reviews all applications in detail and provides scholarships for a broad variety of community college and four-year college academic and training pursuits. Our Scholars have studied mechanical engineering, nursing, auto mechanics, graphic design, software engineering, education, sciences, and the humanities. Already past scholarship recipients have returned to serve the Santa Ynez Valley as teachers, fire fighters, nurses, and civic leaders.
CONTINUITY FOR SUCCESS
By providing critical funding to students at the watershed moment of their committing to earn a college degree, the Santa Ynez Valley Foundation is opening doors for determined young men and women. By staying in close touch with each of the Scholars, the Foundation embodies the whole community cheering these deserving young people as they begin to build their adult lives.
