GRANTS: $5.5 MILLION

More than 5.5 million dollars has been granted since the Santa Ynez Valley Foundation was established in 1991. These grants to community nonprofits serve as a force multiplier, making a positive difference in the lives of people in the Santa Ynez Valley and Los Alamos.

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

In 2023, college scholarships were awarded to 31 graduating seniors from the Santa Ynez Valley and Los Alamos. Additionally, 20 college students were awarded second year scholarships.

SOLVANG FRIENDSHIP HOUSE

Grant helped to provide scholarships to low income elders to attend the Life Enrichment Senior Day Care Program including transportation, showers and grooming services, meals, activities, entertainment, socialization and supervision.

VEGGIE RESCUE

Grant for general support to increase farmer relationships. for this nonprofit that gleans, or collects, excess produce from farms and delivers it at no cost to recipients feeding community members in need.

ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION

Grant to support their Family Services Program in the Santa Ynez Valley, providing caregiver training and education through each stage of the unpredictable Alzheimer’s journey.

ATTERDAG VILLAGE OF SOLVANG

A three-year pledge to help fund the Rehabilitation Program Expansion including modifications to existing buildings, addition of beds and outpatient program, and addition of nursing and rehabilitation staff.

CALM (Child Abuse Listening and Mediation)

Grant to support childhood trauma services in the Santa Ynez Valley.

JODI HOUSE

Grant to support to brain injury survivors and their families through case management, rehabilitation, supportive living services, and employment services.

OLD MISSION SANTA INES

Funding to help provide holiday baskets for low income families.

PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE

Grant helped sustain successful operation of core basic needs programs furnishing food, emergency services, domestic violence prevention (ADCAP), health care (Chart) and children’s dental services.

YOUTH

 

LOS ALAMOS FOUNDATION

Grant helped purchase recreation equipment, supplies, and a cargo trailer to protect and transport their equipment to program site at the Los Alamos Country Park for the Summer in the Park program.

SANTA YNEZ VALLEY THERAPEUTIC RIDING PROGRAM

Funds helped pay for 28 twelve-week scholarship sessions for local special needs students.

SOLVANG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FOUNDATION

Grant helped fund the music program, specifically the kindergarten through 4th grade music teacher.

RONA BARRETT FOUNDATION (THE GOLDEN INN & VILLAGE)

Provided multi-year leadership gift totaling $100,000 towards the construction and opening of the first affordable senior housing and residential care “aging in place” facility.

SANTA YNEZ VALLEY COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Grant helped to provide approximately 1,800 meals to low income seniors.

SOLVANG FRIENDSHIP HOUSE

Grant to help provide scholarships to low income elders to attend the Life Enrichment Senior Day Care Program.

A seven year $150,000 pledge to support construction of a new facility.

Funding to help provide scholarships for children of working and/or student families with documented financial need.


COMMUNITY PUBLIC SCHOOL PTA/PTOs

Grant money provided for public schools’ Parent/ Teacher organizations to use for curriculum enrichment programs and field trips for students.

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY OF THE SANTA YNEZ VALLEY

Helped fund children’s and youth programs.
