Starting October 1, Santa Ynez Valley merchants will welcome the fall season with the annual Scarecrow Fest and Contest, inviting residents and visitors to vote for their favorite scarecrows throughout the month.

One community from the six participating townships—Ballard, Buellton, Los Alamos, Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, and Solvang—will earn the honor of the Harvest Cup Winner.

Registration is officially open for the 2026 Scarecrow Fest! This year we’ve expanded the competition to be SYV wide and we are looking forward to seeing all the creative scarecrows!
