On Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, American Legion Post 160 will hold short ceremonies at the cemeteries beginning at 10 a.m. at Chalk Hill, 10:30 a.m. at Santa Ines Mission, 11 a.m. at Oak Hill, and 11:30 a.m. at Saint Marks.

A formal Memorial Day Program will follow at 12 p.m. at the Solvang Veterans Memorial Hall. The program will feature the Santa Ynez Valley Chorale, SYV Jazz Band, speakers from Vandenberg Space Force Base and local veterans posts, American Legion Post 160, and Boy Scouts.

A free barbecue hosted by the Santa Ynez Valley Elks for veterans and their families will be held immediately following the program.

“All Valley veterans, residents, and their families are invited to come and join in these solemn events,” said Alvin Salge, adjutant of VFW Post 7139.
