Author Arvind Ethan David’s Gray Volume 2
Solvang Library invites the public to meet local author Arvind Ethan David and to celebrate the launch of the second volume of his adult graphic novel Gray Thursday February 15 at Story of Soil Wines in Los Olivos, 2928 San Marcos Avenue. Doors open at 5 pm, and the program, featuring an author talk, a live reading with local theater students, and signing will begin at 5:30 pm. Admission is free to the public, with donations to the Friends of the Library of Santa Ynez Valley gratefully accepted.
Arvind Ethan David is a writer and producer whose work includes the Tony & Grammy winning musical Jagged Little Pill and television shows including Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency and the forthcoming Anansi Boys.
“Since I was a teenager I’ve been obsessed with Oscar Wilde and his gothic horror Dorian Gray. It’s been a wonderful joy to bring my version of Dorian into the world as both graphic novels and an Audible Original drama — and I’m excited to share a piece of both with my adopted home of the SY Valley. Dorian as the most decadent of individuals would approve of having the book launch in a tasting room, and I’m grateful to my friends at Story of Soil and Solvang Library for joining in the celebration.”
In addition to Gray Arvind’s graphic novels include the Stoker Award-nominated series Darkness Visible (with Mike Carey), and the Dirk Gently comic books. He is also a chart-topping Audible author with his science fiction anthology series Earworms and Audible will also be releasing a full cast adaptation of Gray later this year.
Arvind is a principal of Prodigal, the entertainment company where he has produced eight feature films including the Asian Academy Award-winning The Garden of Evening Mists and theatrical shows including the Tony and Grammy-winning Alanis Morissette musical Jagged Little Pill.
Story of Soil winemaker Jessica Gasca and husband Brady Fiechter opened their Los Olivos tasting room in 2017 after going into production in 2012. Their emphasis on letting the vineyard speak through small lots of handcrafted wines creates a personal tasting experience and a welcoming venue for stories of all kinds.
